Hey everyone, yesterday I tested everything to try find out the causes of the electrical issue iam having.
The door controls for the driver doesn’t work. When lock and unlock the car either by fob or from the passenger door control (passenger and other doors the controls work, passenger lock and unlock and window roll down and up, passenger seat buttons also work)
The drivers seat feels like stuck, is not going forward or backwards neither going up, but it makes weird noise and does go down a little but them stop. Act like if battery in the car was weak, is not.
Anytime i lock and unlock with fob, the driver door doesn’t respond. Also consequently the power mirrors doesn’t work.
I tested the switch control buttons at the door, and it seems working fine. I also checked some of the plugs going to this switch and power is going in one of the wires. When i tested the fuses on the left side of dash all fuses work. But at same time seems like all the fuses not receiving energy even when car is running or key in on position. I tested the wires going to the fuse panel and has energy going through but seems like the fuse panel itself not transferring energy?.
I don’t know know what to do anymore. I checked fuses at the engine bay and seems all working. Just not sure the relays. Maybe i will test the relays for click and if energy pass through them when clicks.
It’s a 2012 tahoe ppv 2wd, police trim when check on vin number. Got in auction cheap due to this issue. I need help from your guys more knowledgeable about ppvs.
There’s is some wires loose right at the middle lower portion of the dash. I don’t know what those wires were used for. Maybe for the center console? For police equipment? But is a lot of wires. Only one of these wires is hot, and 3 more only that permits energy cicle through. Other wires dead.

wrong section @Fless @07Burb
and for the OP unless you have had the battery load tested, no telling but the battery and battery cables/grounds is always the 1st place to start as ground zero.

Please anyone help!!! Damn I can’t find the issue why the driver door control doesn’t work. The seats switch makes weird noise as if were dying or low battery. I unbolted it and had with a plier to move by hand the threaded rods that controls the height and forwards backwards of the seat. I checked everything and couldn’t find any rusted shorted wire. When I put the key on and turn to on position, i checked the fuse box left side dash and engine bay, every fuse seems working when I measure the resistance but when i measure for voltage I get nothing. How can these fuse boxes not be receiving Energy?, oh and the rear left window not going down as well. I cant find the issue. Mirrors doesn’t respond to control and one thing i noticed even the driver side ceiling light( close to center mirror) doesn’t work. Car still drive able though and the dash does pop any message of error or sorta

Have you by chance left a window down overnight or had any rain come in that side of the vehicle? You may have burned up the entire panel, it could just be corroded, or you could have a bad ground that isn’t allowing enough juice.

Hi, no I haven’t done it but who knows the old owner/ government agency. Anyways I figured out. Was the black wire ground at the door. That wire that passes through the rubber corrugated. At first time I had loosened a little both sides and checked not very well. Later I even took the whole door plastic apart , anyways I had to replace the inside broken handle/arm rest. Them I found out, it was broken due to opening and closing the door for many times in the past 13 years. One thing I noticed. The other wires are all soft, but this black one is not. It’s like those wires that if bent, stays the shape you left. So it folding and unfolding many times will break like a repair tie down wire. I left it the but ran another same thickness but flexible black wire for the ground. Problem solved! Love it. Now Iam fiddling with the suspension and still need re solder the rear defrost wire and get floor liner mats and another driver seat. Mine is stuck not moving. I had to unbolt it and upside down adjust the way I want it by hand with wrench. Them Just enjoy it. Just connected those afm delete obd2 port . In the future I might try delete complete it. Today testing it drive traction lights came on. But I am not done with suspension stuff yet. Might be why the light came on. I was going with djm but changed my mind. Drop spindles will be enough. Thank you though
