Just curious how difficult it was to get your deposit back on the one you ordered. I had to put down a “non refundable” deposit and I just wonder how much of a fight they’re going to put up if I bail on that one to get a different one.

1) they'll be able to sell it - probably for more than your agreed upon price
2) some of our dealers are saying non-fundable deposits, but the salesmen then say on the side they've refunded several - so you mileage may vary
3) some dealers are sticking to nonrefundable no matter the situation. One in particular is no longer taking deposits on credit cards as they had several prospective buyers to contest the charge to get out of the deposit...dealer is only accepting wire transfers now for the deposit ($1k)

I just received the same criptic message as @Jmarkgraf did last Friday:

HOLD status means no firm ETA on when the vehicle will be released to continue production. Currently, no further updates will be available from our Office and it is highly recommended to explore other sale options with the selling dealership or continue to stay on the list to be contacted by the dealership once movement have been started and ready for delivery.

More than 6 months into this process… WTF. Of course, this is so ambiguous… might mean no change and stop bothering us.

Out of curiosity. What’s on your build? Wonder if there’s anything you left off that helps speed things up.
I have a Evergreen Gray LT. Lux pkg, DMax. and 20" wheels. I didn't order anything extra or delete anything.

I can’t believe you get this much detail on the chat. They don’t want to give up any info like that for gmc.

Hello @kate_t , this was via e-mail from the executive resolution team. I never got anything from the chat, not even a status code. And I am not sure I would call this “information”…

GMC chat is very cryptic. It’s basically a WATER SANDWICH.

—-—————————————————
Your vehicle has been produced. At this time, we do not have an update for shipping. Your dealership has the tools available to see when the shipping status has been updated.

We are still awaiting a shipping update. GM audits all production vehicles to insure the absolute best quality prior to shipment. If issues are identified they are corrected prior to shipment. Delays can be extended based on potential material and labor availability. There is not a current event code listed on file at this time. Was there anything else I may be able to assist with?

Thanks, that’s helpful. My dealer asked for a credit card and it was a $3k (!!) deposit. Hopefully they won’t give me a hard time if I end up canceling. In my defense, I had just started looking and they were like “hey! We’ve got this one coming in that matches what you want! It’s already built, just waiting on an eta”. Then after I don’t hear anything for a couple weeks, I start looking into it and things are obviously not as simple as they made it seem.

Surprisingly not difficult at all. We had never discussed it as non-refundable. I was a bit worried myself, but a simple email explaining I couldn’t wait any longer etc. and they took care of it for me.

9 weeks today since my Yukon went to Midlothian…
With ‘23 MY starting 7/18 are you planning to still take delivery of it goes much longer? I’m a few weeks behind you, but on the same journey.

If I can find a way to pay below msrp I’d still do it. Not sure how I feel about paying full sticker or above msrp for a truck I know has been sitting on a cow pasture all Summer in TX.

I feel the same way. Only good thing is I'm locked in at a better interest rate, and my current vehicles value won't depreciate. Hard decision....

Did you already take out your loan?

One conversation I had with my GM Exec Resolutions person was about financing the car BEFORE it ever was delivered. She said she was so relieved I was NOT because dealerships should NOT be doing this (please don't come at me if you're a dealership/salesman doing this...I'm the messenger here).

My understanding is that rates are only good for 30 days without running credit and 60 days if you do run credit. My salesman has always told me to run credit once truck arrives.

No I didn't. For me, by putting down $1000 and getting pre approved locked me into the rate, and there is an option if on pick up the rates are better I can switch..sooooo they say anyways.

After about a month of waiting and not hearing anything I found out salesperson quit/ was fired, and the salesperson echoed what he had said.

We shall see....if it ever gets here

Question for all you professional vehicle trackers Is there a way for me to find out the timeline of my Tahoe (ordered, built, etc dates)? I reserved it once it was already built and at status 4300. I’d like to know how long it’s been sitting. My dealer says he can only see current status code. Not sure if that’s true…he’s seemed annoyed whenever I ask him anything.

I have only been able to see the current status (via GMC or Chevy chat), but not get the historical code changes and the dates the changes occurred. There was another shipping tracker (JackCooper) that showed a lot of ours had been stuck at the Midlothian lot and the day it arrived, but that site got taken down...
