2021 Yukon Denali- I’ve got this annoying rattle on the passenger side captains chair in the middle row. I’ve tried electrical taping the spot where the latches attached for flipping it up, but that hasn’t seem to solve it. Has anyone had a similar issue and so found a Fix?

Thanks!!

Same here. I just ordered the clips for $9 plus shipping. Hopefully fixes the rattle!

My second row bench on the left side was rattling on my 22 Denali. Turns out it was the seat slide handle that was loose (first lever towards the front). I know you have the captains chairs but I bet the have the same handle. Maybe check that too?

I’ll check it out. Were you able to tighten it somehow?

Hmm. Anyone know if there is a TSB or similar issue for a 2015 Tahoe? Mine has a similar rattle as well.

I can’t remember if the captains chairs on the 15 flip up like they do on the newer models, but if it does, the underside latches is the first place to look for rattle. The latches click onto metal bars and if it’s a little loose, they will rattle. If you just wrap those metal bars that the latches attach to with electrical tape, they will clamp tighter (and against rubber instead of metal) and that might get rid of your noise. I know the guy at the dealership said eight out of 10 times the rattle is from those latches and fixed by the electrical tape.

Yes they flip up and have the metal latches you are referencing. I’ll try what you suggested thanks!

I believe I have narrowed the center seat rattle to being the spring that is in the track mechanism for sliding forward and backward. I gently popped up all the plastic trim to expose it...it has a soft rubber/plastic "hose" that covers it, and that thing slides around on it, back and forth. If the cover "hose" ends up too far to one end of the spring, the spring hits the floor, and you get a rattle. I noticed this as I can make my rattle go away by moving the seats around on occasion. I need to get back in there soon and maybe zip tie it to one specific spring coil, and see if I can keep it from moving around.

That’s good feedback. My 21 has those same springs and I thought that could be a culprit, but I couldn’t easily figure out how to pop up the plastic pieces and didn’t wanna break anything. mine also seems to go away if somebody is sitting in the seat, which to me ruled out the spring. I’ve got some of the clips ordered that were referenced earlier in the thread (TSB for I think ‘21 and ‘22), but really the taping seems to have quieted at the most for me as of now. Still happens on occasion when I hit a noticeable bump but before that it was happening pretty much constantly.
