Is there a difference in the GM vehicles (specifically Suburban/Yukon XL) made in Mexico, USA, or Canada?

It is time to replace the 03 Yukon XL and I was looking at the 07 and 08 Suburbans. Googled for a review and the 07 didn't fair well, but the 08 did great.

However, I have talked to a couple of people I know, both of which have an 07and they rave about them.

So that made me wonder if it had anything to do with which plant they were made/assembled.

While I am here, does anyone have an opinion of which might be better?

Mine begins with a '1'. Does that indicate what plant it was assembled in?

Mine wasn't assembled in either of those three countries ...

It was assembled in the great state of Texas, which as we all know, is its own sovereign nation! :waytogo:

All Tahoes/Yukons/Eskys*

They ALL should start with a 1 in the VIN (aka built at the Arlington plant)

^^that isn't necessarily true. I am looking at an auction sheet that is filled with VINs that begin with 3 on 2008 suburbans.

I have seen window stickers on Suburbans and XL Yukons that list final assembly out of Mexico. I think the plant is Salio, Mexico or something like that. My impression was they only build the longer editions and not the standard length units.

Our 05 came out of the Wisconsin plant.
