The 20 seconds I figured is almost 10 seconds to go from 68 degrees to 90 degrees and back again if I wanted heat temporarily. Also changing vents I find cumbersome as well!

I have my auto temp set at 68. Mostly it's fine unless I'm sweating on a mild day or happen to be cold on a warm day.

I am seriously thinking about sealing the recirc flap shut.

UPDATE: probably turns off recirc when i turn off AC.

Small update, all the photos I see of trucks with CJ3 manual climate control still use the same rear climate controls.
GM Parts websites note that it may need programming, but I believe they are the same unit. (variations being seat heaters or lack of entertainment system)

The rear seat audio control must send HVAC settings through LSLAN. There is no actual HVAC wiring going to it. It may need programming since some temperature sensors are not present in the manual HVAC version.

Here is a list of what I think needs re-pinning. Some wires aren't used, and probably don't need to be removed, but I have listed them as well..
