Just finished putting a LS2 from a TBSS in my 09 tahoe and also installed speed engineering headers and y pipe at the same time. I was real leary about a LS2 since I have been using nothing but LS3's for a few years but couldnt pass up the deal on the LS2 since it only had hundred miles on it. I have put 300 miles on it since being done and wow it drives so much better with the ls2 over the 5.3. So far the mileage is averaging out a little better than the 5.3 was. Its a little louder than I expected with the headers and the stock muffler but its still quite cruising on the highway for the most part unless you hit a hill. Since the motor was basically brand new I wanted to put a few miles on it before throwing it on the dyno so its just street tuned now. I plan on getting to the dyno next week to see what the gains are over the 5.3.

I'll get some the next time its all clean. I also added a catch can since my 5.3 had a ton of oil in the intake when I pulled it out. I was able to sell my 5.3 today for almost what I have in the LS2 so that made the swap even better.

Put it on the dyno to check a/f and just did 2 pulls and called it a day, made 352/378 SAE. I was pleased with the numbers so didnt make any tune changes or anything so not sure if there is more left or not. Bone stock LS2 with stock airbox, speed engineering headers, Y and stock muffler and resonator.

A stock LS2 is rated at 400, that's pretty damn good.
Did you remove the DOD junk or are you planning on it in the future?

Looking for some more pics :)

You really need to post some pictures and a video :)

How big of a difference is it? From the 5.3 to the 6.0?

I'm working out a time/day to pick up my 6.0. Hopefully Thursday.

Night and day difference. I have pulled out the 5.3's in everything I have ever owned and either put in 6.0's or 6.2's. I dont regret a single one of them. I knew as soon as I bought this 5.3 tahoe the 5.3 was coming out for a bigger motor.

Did you do an 80E swap also? Or, are you still using the 60E?

There isnt anything to see, it looks exactly like it did with the 5.3.

What 6.2 do you use, and how easy is it to swap? It looks like you had all the parts between the 5.3 and 6.0 to do the job without anything extra. It would be interesting to know the parts list, if anything, needed to put a 6.2 in place.

Its a direct swap, I re-used all my 5.3 accessories, intake and oil pan. Only thing I bought was new oil pan gasket, new water pump (could have used 5.3 one), exhaust gaskets, and fluids. I also added headers but could have re-used my stock manifolds. You will need the ECM flashed to delete the DOD at a minimum for it to run. It will run and drive on a 5.3 tune if you had to, not recommended though. It depends on what the 6.2 came out (car vs truck) of to what you need to do to use in a tahoe.
