Right now I have a JBL Bp300.1 amp pushing a Rockford fosgate P1 10" wired at 4 ohms. It gives me some good bump but I am looking to add a bit more to my truck. I will be receiving some money and bestbuy giftcards for christmas so I want to do an upgrade. My ideas are to simply get another p1 10 and a dual ported box and just wire them at 2 ohms each to receive the 150 rms watts they are rated at. My other idea is to get an alpine r 10" and put it in the box I have right now. I like shaky bass not exactly the accurate bass of jl subs. What do you guys suggest or reccomend?

The type R is rated 500 RMS, at least the 12" is. It would be louder with the type R if you had a bigger amp, but since its only a 300 watt amp I would just add another P1 since your amp can handle that. You don't want to under power a sub too much, because it can damage it, or at least that's what I've heard. I'm sure you don't want to buy a new amp, so my vote is for 2 P1s in the ported box.

you will NOT hurt the sub by under powering it. What enclosure is it in now? I like the idea of a second, and port them both.

Right now it is in this cheap box : http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Atrend+...coal/9027162.p?id=1218009790803&skuId=9027162

I know it is a cheap box and not that powerful of a sub but it really does add some good bass in the tahoe. If i add another 10, I have to buy a new box which will run me around 100.00 plus the sub from crutchfield which is 109.99 but is buy one get one free.

What if i were to buy an alpine type r 10" and put it in my existing box. Do you guys think that my amp would be able to make it sound good and be an improvement over the p1 right now?

it won't be much louder...your adding a sub that handles more power, but not adding more power. When you add another sub, your adding more cone area. Louder.

If i were to put in either 150 rms subwoofers, (either the p1 10 or get 12s), should i just wire them to each channel and run them each 2 ohms or which way would give me the most power?

"no one, in the history of the world, has ever blown a subwoofer by feeding it too little power. i don't care what your friend said, he's a dirty liar"

i would double up on the p1
