Every now and then, especially after off-roading or a medium distance drive I get this message. I always check and the level is where its supposed to be in the overfill tank. I do here the gurgling alot of people hear. Im pretty sure I just got it flushed not too long ago but I gotta dig up my records. Any suggestions?

This happened on my 01 silverado.. It was a faulty sensor. i removed the harness and put in a jumper wire to trick it until i replaced it and that fixed the problem

Mine will do it if I'm parked facing down hill or if I park and the passenger side is on the low end of a hill, never gave it much thought after checking the overflow once or twice, as soon as I pull out to a level spot and restart the truck its fine once again

Had that happen to me once, too. Just once, though. Kinda weird. I did all the usual...checked the level and temp and they were fine. Hasn't done it since.

They're just lights and warnings....they don't mean anything. Just ignore them and keep driving....

Mine doesn't work. My 2003 silverado worked some times, usually when it was a gallon or so low.

I wounder if these don't get gunked up.

Check your water pump!! Crawl under your truck with a flashlight and maybe a small mirror and check out the bottom of the waterpump to make sure it isn't wet! I had that happen this summer but it never really looked like it was low, just happened to see a drip under my truck, low and behold the water pump was failing!! Just an idea!

The good, the bad and the Ugly.

I wouldn't listen to anyone on the internet that would tell me that you can just ignore lights and gauges when warning lights appear and to just keep driving it.

I'm not quite sure if the sensor is in the tank on the radiator or if it is built into the resivour. But either way, it isn't all that much to change. As I always say - you are there and I am here.

Change the sensor and then come back and tell us if it fixed the problem or not.

I worked on a Caddillac one time that had the same problem and it was not the sensor. We ended up driving it through the auction and let the next owner fix it. I would find out what the problem is - before it becomes a bigger problem.

I was always really lucky that I had enough mechanical problems with my 1999 - 2002 vehicles that the coolant was changed more then necessary and that I never had to put a water pump on one - out along the road someplace.

It's a bear of a job - even though everything is right out front.

I didn't notice a puddle for 2 weeks, just happened to look at the front of the truck just after I parked it and notice it was dripping out of the corner of my eye!! Yep, out of the weep hole in the bottom, if it's a stock pump that is (my replacement didn't have the weep!)

You would be suprised, one of the easiest water pump replacements I have ever done, took only 1 hour with the right tools and that was taking my time!

Yet another case of the internet being good for lots of things EXCEPT sarcastic humor........

I was KIDDING.

you might have air in the radiator
park with the front end on a curp so its elevated and run your truck with the cap off and it should "burp" it, could also be your radiator cap, if it leaks you'll hear air going through it and you should buy a replacement.
