So I lost a race to my friends 04 Nissan Armada LE. :( We went off a light from 0~115mph. He beat me by a car length, maybe more. Was this supposed to happen? My 04 Denali is stock with 22" rims. His Armada is stock with 22" rims also. He has agree'd to a rematch but I want to know what low key stuff I can do to come out a winner this time. The idea is to appear as if I have not done anything to my truck on the next race, and win. With this truck I was not into making it faster...until I lost. :emotions122:

Get a tune from Blackbear. Although you may need more help than that. The Armada is part time 4wd whereas the Denali is AWD. You're losing more brake horsepower percentage-wise than he is because you're trying to get power to all 4 wheels whereas he's probably getting power to the 2 rear wheels. Also, his truck might be a little lighter. I'm not 100% sure on that though. Also, hearing pays a big factor in this. Whose final drive is bigger? Bigger final drive ratio means quicker acceleration, but lower top speed. Also, who has the fewer gears? The less time a transmission is shifting the more it allows the engine to accelerate the vehicle.

Lol ....weight might play a factor as to why your losing and a good ole bb tune, CAI should get you some good gains.

things that will for sure make you a little quicker
spare tire- shit can
have less than a 1/4 tank of gas
take everything u can "junk" out of your truck and shit can it
if you have a third row, shit can it
windshield washer fluid resivour-empty
any floor mats -shit can
and a BB tune is a silent killer
weight= slow the more weight you can shed the better

Getting rid of floor mats and washer fluid will only save one $5 of gas a year at the most considering they do not weigh much at all. The rest are good suggestions depending on the needs of the driver.

Thank you for the suggestions thus far. Awesome community of people on this forum. You are right, the Armada is about 2-300lbs lighter at stock trim than the Denali not to mention my rims are probably a lot heavier. Taking the advice so far, I think I am going to look into a good CAI and BlackBear for sure. I'll have to do some searching to find out where to get them.

I want to be the first to congratulate you and your friend for hurling two SUVs weighing a few thousand pounds each down the street at over 100 MPH. Good thing the local cops closed down the road for you guys so you wouldn't have to worry about hitting anything or anybody.

They are a vendor on TYF with their own subforum along with a link over on the right hand side of your page. Check them out. There's a TON of info on this site about them with just some very minor digging. :waytogo:

I am glad I'm not the only one who thinks this when reading this types of threads.

Although I'm sure those stock brakes will keep you from crashing when you gotta lock em' up at those high speeds when something/someone comes into your path.......
