Just want to ask about the reliability about this vehicle? They want $7500 with 130,000 miles they say they have gave it oil changes every 3,000 miles it says it's a police addition and has the light outside the window like police.my last couple vehicles have failed me and I want something that will be reliable and last me a while.what are some problems that often occur with these SUVs?is it a reliable vehicle or what else can people recommend me to buy for a larger or larger enough family of four vehicle, that will be reliable and last us a while?

2010 Yukon, police 'addition'? No such thing from GM OE. Fishy.
'They say', 'it says' ... what does it SHOW? What's the VIN?
No such thing as a Yukon Police Pursuit or Special Service Vehicle, only Tahoe PPV or SSV.
Did you see ANY pics, or is this just word of mouth?
The pics they don't show are where you go looking for problems.

At 130,000 miles, expect several secondary and tertiary features to need repairs / replacement.
Has the transmission been rebuilt yet? If not, you will be rebuilding it soon, several thousand dollars.
If V4 mode (AFM / Engine Half@$$) has not yet been disabled, even if you disable it ASAP, there may be problems down the road.

If V4 mode has been disabled, I'd be more enthusiastic about it.

I would recommend getting a pre-purchase inspection by a trusted independent shop, as well as any documentation of the maintenance. Also check CARFAX for accidents, odometer discrepancies, etc.
My 2012 Yukon SLE HAS 139K miles on it. Its value is $6K. Also, previous police vehicles have usually been handled pretty rough. I would have a trusted mechanic go over it with a fine tooth comb, plus a CARFAX report is always a good idea and fine investment. That being said…I wouldn’t pay over $3K for it. And that’s only if it’s in really good condition.

definitely need pics of the yukon ex police car. officially i do believe only the Tahoes was used by the cops. but maybe it was a security officer type if thing. I see all kinds of vehicles around here with constable on the side of them done up at police cars. I don't honestly even know what a constable is. some tx thing I guess haha.

anything is possible.

are you a diy mechanic at all?

$3K? that's funny. $3K might buy a rusted-out 2000 2wd tahoe with a destroyed interior. I do agree with all else you said.

the 2011 Tahoe is supposed to be a very reliable vehicle according to Carcomplaints.com this particular model lands of the best of list. Not an easy list to land in. I would recommend a pre purchase inspection and checking the carfax. I am currently on the hunt for a 2013.

I paid 6K for my Yukon with 110K on it..but it does have a fair bit of body rust. That being said. Check all fluids and make sure the trans fluid isnt burnt. I wouldnt be to worried with the 6l80E over the 4l60E

So turns out it was a 2011 Chevy Tahoe Lt, with 130,000 miles we got for $7200, and it has a stack of all service records. But we didn't notice it doesn't have a tow hitch to tow a trailer, can we get one on there and how much would that be possibly?also we don't have a center console there's that metal there and stuff would like to possibly see if we could get a center console in it,and see if we can get third row seats.upgrade the stereo.
Anyone have any tips to a new owner of one of these vehicles anything I can do to help it out or make it last longer.
Probably looking to remove the spot light on it too.are these good long lasting vehicles.i am not a super good car guy I no a little not enough.
Anyone has any insight on this vehicle,my wife says she wants more luxury and what not but we shall see??

Police Pursuit Tahoes do not come with trailer hitches.

This likely isn't that hard.
I'd prefer a 3rd seat, one that does a pretty good impression of a center console when folded down.

3.42 rear axle gear, unless you are interested in towing HEAVY, then 3.73.
ECM & TCM tune to turn off V4 mode, improve powertrain responsiveness, and extend transmission life.
265/70R17 (or 255/75R17) will make your wife happier in terms of cushy ride quality.

Congrats! Looks like you got a former police or gov’t vehicle. Play with the spotlight at night before you remove it. It’s been installed correctly.

As far as luxury goes, eBay is your catalog. 2011-14 Tahoe, Yukon & Escalade short wheelbase leather, heated and or ventilated seats and door cards are all options.

The software upgrades are handled by …

Sell the spotlight here to someone who'd like to be able to shine a light sideways in the dark without opening a window.

Oh the fun and trouble you could get into alerting other drivers that their headlamps are not adjusted correctly. In front and behind you.

Used to be a cabdriver. We mostly used spotlights to check addresses on doors, look for gaps in fences.
Sometimes we'd point 'em straight up at night to get other drivers' attention behind the dispatcher's back.
