She wants the comfort and the reliability of the 4th gen and I am familiar with them. Took a road test in one today and was nice inside and out, no rust, had no accidents and no dents but no clear coat on the hood and a few scratches and was at 215k miles. Lots of life left in the engine and transmission. They were asking $12500 OBO but I found two big chips in the w/s and will need to bring home to elevate and check everything. I am thinking between $9k to $10k but I am sure they will say no and that is fine with me.

My wife has been happy with a 2008 Explorer. The only issues we've had is that these eat wheel bearing for breakfast, but the front ones are easy to change. It is just a thought for alternatives to the 4Runner.
