When we got ‘er home I made a punch list of items to tackle before putting ‘er on the road in the next month or two.
Most are simple…

First thing I addressed was a case of hyper flashing turn signals.
Here it is. The signals worked, but hyper flash is evident on the passenger side.
I also noticed the light much dimmer on the passenger rear.

I suspected someone installed the wrong bulb in the rear, as it appeared most evident by eye.
And sure enough…someone had installed the wrong bulb type. An LED to be exact. That’s what was causing the hyper flash.

I have a huge stash of spare parts for this generation rig.
Amongst them, plenty of spare bulbs.
It was a nice little project for my 2yo granddaughter and I to tackle.

Now working and looking like it should.
Look close and you can see our granddaughter’s little feet in there.
She was handing me the tools, bulbs and screws.

Especially the rear.

My future little helper granddaughter is only 3 months old. She came to visit this weekend. I tried to give her a 3/8 short extension to hold in her hand but mama sad NO, not yet.

This picture is our granddaughter from (2) years ago.
I say all she needs is a 1/2” and 9/16” to know how to help me around the shop lol.

LMAO. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I couldn't find the pic I was looking for, but did find these.

For whatever reason I had a bunch of old computers to scrap, so at a year old she learned to help me. Then she realized her toys had the same screws, and started taking them apart too.

A few years later, at age 4, she helped me build my teardrop.

She's 20, and a junior in college now.

Yep. It’s 16 years old now. Towed about 40,000 miles or so, including a fair amount of forest roads.

Next punch list item:

The driver's door switch cluster had a couple of issues with it.
The mirror left/right selector knob was broken.

And the switch for operating the passenger window would only roll the window down and not up.

I found an identical match in my spare parts box I have from Suburbans we've owned in the past. This one is from an old '98 GMC Suburban we bought back in '05.

Removed the old...

And installed the good one. All works perfectly now.
