Long wait over.. Tahoe LTZ on route - what are must have accessories?

Well - after a long three month wait the dealer called to say our 2015 White Diamond LTZ is built and on it's way. Should be here in about 5 days.

I am now finalizing my list of accessories I want to buy. Want opinions on the must have accessories.

Here is my list

- Husky Weatherbeater 1,2,3row mats throughout (I gather Husky is still the better choice vs weathertech from all the reviews)

- Cargo liner - undecided on this one. Is husky or weather tech the better choice for the cargo liner (with 3rd row folded)

- WeatherTech bug deflector (GM is recommending EGR??)

- Looking for an organizer or something for the front center console (separate out gas receipts etc)

- GM cargo net to keep the groceries from sliding around

Anything other tips would be greatly appreciated.

Doing the same now with the new to us 2015 Suburban LT. We have the cargo net - it opens to hold items within but since it is installed right at the tailgate I don't know how well it will hold a large load of groceries.

Would love to find a folding rear mat as I expect our 3rd row will be up most of the time just to minimize the large rear space (to keep items from sliding everywhere) - but when its down and hauling stuff I'd want a full mat.

The GM Accessory organizer for the center console looks to be reasonable for your use - I'm not seeing many other options out there at the moment. If its for receipts, get a hanging file folder that has pockets so items won't slide out the side and just hang it in the console on the rails.

Also looking for a bug/rock deflector.... curious on what others have seen with fit/style - would love to see some pics....


One other "accessory" - are you considering any type of paint protection - I'll be applying either an Optimium coating or maybe CQuartz - used Optimium 2.0 on my Mazda 6 and it has done very well over the last 6 months, but they have discounted that specific version and it is not clear the consumer version available now is the same quality.... I'm also likely going to install or have installed paint protection film on at least the headlights and and the front surfaces on the grill - had a film installed on my other car and it has paid off so far - the surfaces on the Suburban are reasonable enough that I think I'm going to attempt it myself with pre-cut material.

I have been on the fence WRT to deflector or 3M film. I keep hearing about yellowing of the films on white cars etc. Local shops are well over $600 for a front hood/headlight film package. Deflector can be had for $99. Anybody with a WhiteDiamond and successful clear bra?

What about winter tires? Given the winter we are experiencing in North East, i'm thinking of picking up some old 20" rims and going with XICE2 or Blizzak. Any thoughts or advice?

I cannot stress enough what others have said about the xpel instead of the bug shield. It'll protect way more of the vehicle and not change the appearance in any way.

As for winter tires, you're likely going to find differing opinions here but mine is that if you're likely to drive in snow and ice on a regular basis, get dedicated snow tires. 4wd is awesome for getting you started and helps keep you in line around bends but doesn't do anything to help you stop. It's a 6000lbs vehicle so stopping is pretty important.

I have the 3m Scotchgard pro hood, fender, mirror and door kit which has a 7 yr warranty. I've installed it on just about all of my vehicles and never had a single issue.

Installation is pretty straight forward and not difficult at all. If you order the kit online you'll get a free installation kit and a short how to video that's very informative.

Forget the 3-600$ price quotes from your local shops, pretty sure I paid around 110.00 shipped for my Denali.

I got a quote over the weekend from 2 installers. One was 3m film for 630 front end and lights. for Xpel it was 950. 2nd shop wanted 2200 for all fenders, both bumpers, hood and lights.

I just want the front end protected. Post some close up pics of the 3m film you did. I may have to go this route. Also can you post the link you purchase it. The Denali hyperlink just took me to amazon general Denali search.

I have the Weather tech cargo liner and am very happy with it. Only issue (As has been brought up) is that it's useless with the third row folded up and since there's so little storage, I end up having to take it out when I know I'm going to be in minivan mode.

My 2015 LTZ came with the LPO all weather floor mats and I'm pretty disappointed with them - they were a few hundred bucks and the weather techs and huskys are way better.

Also ordered the polished exhaust tip, which took about 3 minutes to install and I think improves the appearance.

Did 30% tint on my front windows to stay legal.

Next upgrade: train horns...

I heard 3m film on white cars is a bad idea. Lots of complaints of yellowing within 1 year.

Get a ROKU for streaming for family in rear. Wheel locks if U didn't get them too.
