Locked radio

I recently purchased a oem radio but noticed it was locked after installing it, my question is there a way to unlock the radio with out going to the dealership.

Yes, you can if it's the older system. If it's for a '07+ radio then no, you have to get to a dealership

Ok its been a while since I responded back to this thread, but I got the radio unlocked for 30 bucks with out going to the stealership the radio works fine even got free xm not sure for how long the only problem with the radio is the volume, it wont go down its stays on high does any one have any idea on what I can do to correct this.

Needs to have the radio programmed to work with your truck. Either you have the center channel or not but each has a different way it turns up the volume. Greg Cps av will fix it for you.

while searching for a way to unlock the radio i found a company that sells these machine to audio repair shops they actually gave me two people in my area that unlocks the radio i was shock when they gave me the price. The machine actually erases the vin number from the radios memory.

I am wondering if this machine is what is causing your issues, i thought the truck computer had to be updated as well.

I doubt it since the machine only erases the vin number from the radio.
