Lock Screen without valet mode? Anyone know a way to do this?

I want to be able to lock my screen from going up to access the compartment behind. I know i can do it with valet mode but i would like to be able to add another button or switch to lock it where it can't be open just by pressing the button on the dash.

i have asked & been told there is nothing from GM outside of valet.

GM really missed the ball on this one. @ a minimum when key is off, it shouldnt open.


a switch /button could be a nice option, if someone has a service manual to validate wiring.
