Liftgate handle

My lift gate handle doesn’t open the lift gate. It’s almost like a cable has detached. Has anyone had this issue before?

There's a linkage. Pull the trim / molding off the inside of the door. I recommend a plastic tool (not screwdrivers) to pop the plastic clips. The linkage is broken in some way.

Probably a good idea to go to junkyard and pull the guts from another one. Then you learn before you work on yours and have the parts too.
