Some states allow for the sales tax to be minimized if you are trading in a vehicle.

Example:

New vehicle: $50K
Old vehicle trade in: $30K
Taxable amount: $50K-$30K= $20K

So you are taxed on $20K rather than $50k.
This is how it is in IA.

Great info thanks everyone.
Hey I just brought a denali from Laura last week I'm in Maryland. I'm currently awaiting my paperwork from Laura so I can do my tags as mentioned they'll cut you a check back for the taxes. As for shipping I paid $725 no hidden fees and I used montway shipping. Took 3 days for delivery.

Just saw this. Thanks for the reply Tee.

I've been looking at them hard again. I know the utility and function would be better than my current truck. I run a laser tag business so can leave all my equipment inside the Yukon overnight without worry of it being stolen or rained on. Just don't know if I want to buy a new vehicle at this point, or want to show up to a laser tag party in a Yukon XL Denali LOL.

I know this is a dumb question but did you test drive your vehicle or did you do the deal over the phone?

Dumb question...
What is it to test drive? Is new...
My mentally. I don't test drive the vehicle... I rather seat down and do numbers.
That brings me to my next question
Do you know if Laura's dealership takes the GM discount?
They got something I like for a Sale price $60,750. Discount already is $9,510
I'm been offering around my dealership $58,000 cash with my Discount so far is up to $60,890

It's been well documented that some of these vehicles have vibration issues as well as some people suffer from headaches while riding do a test drive is prudent to make sure your vehicle doesn't have these issues from jump.

I rented a suburban in Texas and drove another Yukon XL in NY. I didn't had any issues. Just falling love with the new 2016/17 ride. Sold my 2007 XL and now shopping for the new babe. I hope I get a one I guess.
Thanks for the info

MAke sure you take the vehicle you will purchase on a test drive and get it up to 65 to 70 MPH. If you notice any bad vibrations or rattles don't but that vehicle. You will be in the service deptpartment more than you will want too be.

No I actually test drove the vehicle. I was unable to do the deal over the phone. I called and they told me they were unable to do anything over the phone. I went into my supervisor office played sick hopped on a plane an hour after I hung up and I was in IL in 2 hours signing papers

I'm actually glad I did test drive mines I got it up to 70 and that damn thing was Harlem shaking all over the highway. They changes the rims and tires and haven't a problem since. Another guy who was buying while I was there was interested in a diamond white he hopped in and the AC wasn't working. So he settled for a black one.

Laura is the best.
I live in NY and bought my 2015 Yukon Denali XL from them. The price they advertised was the price I paid. I actually ended up getting a USAA rebate at the time that I didn't know about. It cost around $750 to have the car shipped from MO to NY. No dealer in the area would come anywhere close to the price.
If I buy another GMC, it will definitely be from them.
