Noticed a lot of threads on this subject. If you all can help please, a couple of questions. I have the 5.3 engine on a 2003 Tahoe. Pretty sure I have one bad knock sensor. (P0332 and no continuity). So I am going to tear into it shortly. While I am in there I will be replacing the oil sender and valve cover gaskets as well. I have read something about an actual valve cover replacement as well. What is that about? Also soemthing about a "catch can" . Please elaborate or point me to a forum topic.

Finally would you recommend the valley pan gasket as well?

Thank you.

Yes, do the valley pan gasket while in there. If you search, you will find the threads about the valve cover and catch can that will give greater detail than I can and be real world experience, since I do not have them.
