@strutaeng has given you something else to consider. That chewed off metal went somewhere. It is in the oil and then the oil pickup and in the oil pump and throughout that engine.

Shop is going tear it down and determine if there is any additional damage. They did not think there was a lot of metal torn off but will check like people suggested

It will be way better to "know" instead of "think". Unless you are standing there, I would insist on pics of the teardown, step by step. There are unscrupulous shops out there and they will not give that much of a warranty on their work for doing a cam and lifters and if they are supposed to tear down and inspect, they may just cross their fingers and hope there are no problems and just do a thorough cleaning of the outside of the engine and make you THINK it was tore down and inspected. They are going to charge you for the teardown anyway and just doing a clean up is way way less time. I hate being pessimistic about this but there are shops that do this.
