iPhone X Compatibility with 2013 Yukon Denali

So I got a new vehicle this week (2013 Denali) after totaling my 2010 Tahoe LTZ. My old tahoe worked great with my iPhone X. I expected the same with this vehicle and was excited it had a slightly updated user interface. But when I plugged it in it just gave an error message saying media not found. WTF? Anyone have a solution to this? Is there maybe a firmware update or a cheap solution to getting an iPhone X to work with a 2013+ GMT900 vehicle?? Please Help! TIA!

short answer... if you don't have a song downloaded in iTunes, download a song from iTunes. Unplug and plug back in.
