I thought these videos do a good job of demonstrating the importance of proper weight distribution on a trailer.

I used to tow my 73 Blazer off road rig and have felt both of those sways when the weight was too far back. A weight distribution hitch with anti sway set up and properly loaded tow weight, tows like a dream and is very safe.
