Just curious if anyone has swapped the stock intake tubing with the metal aftermarket's into the stock airbox.. and I know that the airraid mit tube is the best but I have a spectre intake tube sitting in my garage and was just curious if it has or can be done .

I did mine like that. Got a cold air kit off ebay and cut it up to fit the stock ac....took a little creativity, but got it working and it does a good job. You can do it and save a bunch of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. good luck

'02 Z71, I got the airraid black plastic(?) version, stock air box. Main reason for going that route is I need CARB cert. Adds a bit of a howl when opened up, but otherwise I don't really hear it. I have too many other things going on to verify mpg changes, etc., but it "feels" a little more responsive.

If you can make it fit, why not? Give it a shot.
