Whenever I get a job, I'm kinda wanting to change the Escalade's front to a Platinum one. My mom loves the look but did not want to pay any extra, as she was already pushing it with the new Escalade (and heavily considered a Denali).

She then told me that it would be nice if we could later update it to resemble a Platinum in the front. So, I did some searching and found this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...20553779418&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:MOTORS:1123

$2400 plus shipping for the front bumper and grilles. However, according to GMPartsDepartment, here are their prices:

  • Bumper cover - W/platinum edition - W/platinum edition = $343.67
  • Upper grille - Cadillac escalade W/platinum edition - Cadillac escalade W/platinum edition = $385.34
  • Lower grille - W/platinum edition - W/platinum edition = $180.84
  • Mount panel - Cadillac escalade W/platinum edition - Cadillac escalade W/platinum edition = $41.34

Total of...$951.19.

A LOT less than $2400, right? So should I show that to the seller and see if he'll lower his price or just stick with ordering from that site?

Thanks

Order from the site, but make sure they both have all the same number of parts.
Can't stand people who attempt to rip people off on Ebay.:sleepy10:

Well, his comes with EVERY little piece it needs to be mounted, whereas if I order online I'd have to make sure I buy all those tiny parts.

I emailed him and all he said was "I have no problem selling these for the price I set them". He also couldn't give me a part number for the platinum radio trim he has, I guess it's just too much trouble for him to turn the part over and read that number.

are you going to put in the platinum LED headlight assembly as well? If so do you know how much?

Platinum headlights are said to be worse than the standard HID's and are about $1600-$1800 each.

And yeah, I guess his price is worth it since it comes factory painted and includes every little part needed for installation...it's just steep though.

You could probaly sell the original front end to someone wanting to put an Escalde front end on a Tahoe or Yukon. Make back some of your cost.

True, but I gotta come up with the $2400 first. I think my mom should pitch in a little, since it's HER vehicle haha.

But, all the little parts only cost a few bucks. Maybe I should buy one major piece at a time as I get the money, and then once I get those, I'll go to the dealer and see what all nuts/bolts/brackets I need, which should only run up to an extra $100 or so.

Thanks! It'll be a while though. I have yet to get a job so I have no extra money coming in except chores, doing errands for my mom, and birthday money for my birthday in a week.

And that won't buy a Platinum fascia too quickly, haha. I'm thinking about getting the Platinum headlights off of junkyards...they sell them for about $500 each in grade A condition as opposed to the $1800 each from GM sites. And then if we don't like the new headlights, we can sell them on eBay for more than what we paid.

god me to man, and my family isnt even wealthy. due to medical reasons my mom cant drive anymore and my dad drives her car and i took his, the one in my profile picture. i hate it more than anything, especially when i pay for all the gas, insurance, tickets i get, mods, everything really besides the actual car which was handed down to me. sorry for the rant haha but on topic, if it comes painted to match the car and he has all the little parts you need imo its not too far off. peace man

Haha well it's always nice to meet other people my age here! Is yours a Z71? I can't tell from the pics.

And yeah the price isn't that far off but I could still save a lot if I buy them from GM. I guess the dealer would know what parts to order.
