I am running wiring for a 2500watt inverter.

I am running 0 guage to the positive lead, but was wondering if I can run 4 guage to the negative lead.

Ideas??

u should run the same guage wire to both leads, and the negative lead should not be more then 3 feet long. ive had a problem running a smaller guage for one of my amps and it kept going into safe mode when i had it cranked up. it will do the same thing with a inverter.

Thanks, just what I needed to hear. One more trip to the store, but worth it from what you're telling me.

Have a good evening!

NorCal,

Just making my morning list.

that would be nice if 7-11 had an audio section though!

Ah, guess 15 hours of homework will make you a little tired. I read it as you are going to the store right now. :doh2:

Morning visit makes more sense. And yes, 7-11 of audio would be nice.
Good luck with the wiring when it comes around.

Off topic question Mr. Balll

How did you become a full access/senior member?

I've been wondering about how that works and what the benefits are...

Looks like I have 15 hours of homework ahead of me as well... Any benefits other than the nameplate?

Not really sure. I haven't actually looked into it much. It may effect PM box limits and maybe sig size, but I don't really use either of those much so I am not too sure of the benefits.
Maybe a mod or more knowledgeable person will come in and reply on it.

I haven't noticed any benefits. But the only benefits I'm looking for is help and to help others here on the forum. Also I've heard the ground lead shouldn't be more than 18" long but the shorter, the better, unlike most things, lol.

I was mostly wondering about whether or not being a full access member would do away with the need to sign on everytime you want to see/read responses. The current one email to a response, and then no more til you sign on again is a bit ridiculous. And maybe a free TYF t-shirt. Kidding...

Am I wrong on this?

Negative lead will be a max of 18". i'm thinking of running it to the center seat belt bolt after some sanding. Any problems you can think of with doing this? It worked fine for my original amp setup, just not sure itll work for twice the original load.

When you sign in, there's a small box you can check that says 'remember me'. This makes it so you don't have to sign in every time.
I think you should be ok, 0 gauge should be big enough for anything you're doing in your vehicle.

What I meant was, lets say I make a thread on wheels. You respond to that thread, I get an email saying you responded, your response, and it says to sign on to see if there are any other responses. Like if 4 people respond, why not get 4 emails?

If i'm under my truck with a question, and am waiting to hear back checking my iphone, why not be able to get all of the responses there instead of having to sign on to the actual site on my laptop to check it.

If that makes any sense whatsoever ;)

Oh, I understand now. I don't think being a full access member will change that.
