I just picked up a dash cam and I'm annoyed to find that all my 12v outlets are on direct power. What's the best way to convert one so it powers on with the ignition? I've seen a few vague references to tapping into the under dash fuse panel, nothing specific as to which circuit is best.

Thanks

is it 12v or 5v?
if it is 12v you can tap right into the mirror harness, if it is 5v you can hard wire the adapter to any 12v accessory source, usually done at the kick panel above your left foot under the dash.
dangling wires are a thing of the past,,,,,,
a volt meter is going to be your best friend.

What year?

If 2003 or so, grab the upfitters guide here: https://www.gmupfitter.com/light-duty-vehicles/light-duty-prior-to-2013/

Click on Full-Size SUVs, then download the C/K Full-Size Electrical 2003...

Search for the LEFT BEC fuse center info, which is one of the places that @Doubeleive recommended. The available circuits there are detailed.
