So for a real nice toolbox like some of you have. And full of tools. How much some of you have invested. ? I dream of being a mechanic someday. But idk if I'll ever make it to that level.

So Box itself and filled mostly of Snap-on tools over 10 years of Buying tools I must easily have over 50k invested. The most expensive tool i own is a Snapon scanner, Modus Ultra. at the time i purchased for 6k. To update it to cover to scan 2015 -2016 vehicles, it will cost about 1100 or i can pay monthly for about 100 Bucks a month and keep it current everytime a update comes out.

I just traded my Matco box in for the snap on but my snap on box was $10,000 with free hutch and $3000 free tool/ rebate when you make big purchases but I've have tons of Matco/snap on tools I'm a diesel mechanic and also have my own business on the side

The Modus is badass. I told my guy to keep an eye out for a trade in so I can upgrade my Solus Ultra - yes it sucks to update yearly but definitely a necessity. I've also got a Tech2, MDI (need to get the MDI2).

There are so many tools I've bought over the years that help me make money - they're worth their weight in gold. Lot of people think mechanics and body men are nuts to spend so much on tools, but in the end, it's our job, and they make us money. They don't sit in a garage waiting for a Saturday to do some fix it up work.

My modus keeps reminding me every week there is an update. Seems like it's getting a little slower too. Cleared out all the data that I can as well. Maybe that's how they get us

The snap on set that I have was passed down to me. It is an investment that can be past on. I also have been bugging the wife to upgrade mine and seeing you guys with the epic makes me want one.

Not a toolbox but I acquired this cool little handmade tool cart from my cousin a few weeks back! He's a fabricator by trade and made this out of spare sheet metal he had lying around a few years back. No longer had room for it so I snagged it. Pretty cool little cart :)

Did you just walk into a pepboys service bay and wheel that out? lol I kid. Service carts make life easier rather than walking back and forth all the time

I like how this thread made most of you clean up your tool boxes lol.

I don't have a garage so a 2000 Chevy venture serves as my box. Hell it's so full I have tools spilling out my bedroom into the hallway. There's even an 11 gallon compressor in my walk in closet. Lol other tools I own aren't even at my house
