I might have found a gem that is about 1/2 mile from my American Legion post

We have a local fire burning right at the base of the mountain where I live right now and the wind died down yesterday as today. The smoke settled into the valley. We have that same eerie haze... hoping it gets under control soon.

Me too. A close friend of mine has a house in Marcola, Oregon and he is worried that it could all burn. That Marcola valley was just given the emergency signal #1 to be aware. Number 2 is to prepare to leave. #3 is, get the **** out of Dodge. I had him come here with his Harley and I just put it in one of my units at my facility. He has a car hauler and has his truck hooked up and one of his cars loaded and has a place to stay and bring his other vehicles to. This is all supposed to be much safer within a day or two. It will just be the aftermath that will have to be dealt with.

The wind picked up yesterday afternoon in Portland, gusts to 40-50 and the wildfire smoke poured in and it was eerie, but I saw a video on FB on I-5 down near Eugene and the cars were doing 20 with their hazards on and still could barely see each other so it must have been worse down that way. All clear here today and the wind isn’t much. How is it down there today, Ron? Edit: never mind, I wasn’t getting alerts again so I missed out on your posts. All caught up now.

If someone is worried about doing burnouts then they’re not concerned with breaking things or fixing things... There's almost nothing to break on stability and traction control, the same module that handles ABS handles it so the module is already there. And do NOT tell me you can pump the brakes faster than the ABS.
Traction control and stabiltrac LIMIT torque and wheel spin, abs is for stopping only, they do share the same data feed as abs when they are included as a option. yes it is a nice safety feature but it is also a hinderance in specific situations such as trying to get up a muddy snowy driveway, traction control kicks in and doesn't know the difference between "hey I am trying to ******* get thru here" and "avoiding a accident" it just see's the wheel spin data and apply's the brake or torque limit as it see's fit.

Before I knew I could turn it off by holding the switch in this caused me to pass on an immaculate 13 Yukon XL with a 6.2 and AWD. I was ready to go get it but then backed out.

Very smokey all day and was so thick at one point it looked like dark outside around 11 am. Has the orange glow when you look up. Lots and lots and lots of ash blowing and drifting around.
Now I see why you’re getting it but I’m not. Nothing burning East of Portland. I saw news pictures where in places it’s like night in the middle of the day. Crickets are chirping and the streetlights came on.

He called me and said he would sell to me for $8000 and I went and bought it and have it home. I will post pics of it after I clean it.

The test drive was great the other day and my drive home was great. He has a Kenwood stereo in it with a remote for it. Two working key fobs and keys.

So, the quest is over and both sides happy. Time to start going thru it and making a list for this and that. Thanks all for any support given in this thread. In the end, I was just not going to find one in this good of shape anywhere within 200 miles of me.
