Yeah but your two cars that are a few years old are two good cars to have. I am glad that noone got offended by my post as it was not my intention to do so. Sounds like I just need to learn to pay a car off so I can start my own collection. I have a little disease called cantkeepacarlongenoughitis and I tend to sell after a year and a half, because I see something new I "just have to have". Good thing is I never get into any negative equity, bad thing is I can't pay a car off.

Why would they give you a hard time your truck is not exactly "old".

You have to know my friends...Lots of guys who grew up extremely spoiled. And now that they are all done with school they think $50,000 a year is a ton of money and are going out and buying 2009 Lexus GS430s and Mercedes E550s, etc.

Once they grow up enough and realize that a $1000/month car payment is insane, and realize they cant afford to buy a house because of their damn car, they will learn.

I blew my load over the last few years. Driving paid off cars for a long time helped to save the money. Got the Yukon, Lexus, Landcruiser and SeaRay all in the last few years. I have a new business starting so major purchases are over. In about four years, I'll be moving down the forum boards. :hands:

My advice, leave the retirement and home alone. Cars are not important enough to work until 65 and risk foreclosing on a home...

This topic has nothing to do with Tahoes/Yukons, but it does have to do with cars. I have noticed this on forums for a long time, and have been dying to ask. How are you guys and girls (particularly young ones 16 -28 years old) able to own......

What a good thread...I've been wondering the same about lotta kids out there. This isn't just your average every day blahblah this mod/that mod thread either...you get to know guys a little better than you did before eh?

My car story? I'm 34 and been in the IT industry for about 17+ years or so? Started by own small IT services business, from that money I started another one so I had two very lucrative businesses going at the same time. I'd say during that time I was averaging about 5-12k per week, so money came very easily at that point in my life. I had a big house, a harley, a BMW, an Infiniti, and a couple other cars here and there. My priorities and my head were not in the right place that's for sure, and I had the blood suckers around me to prove it. My total monthly commitment to vehicles was around 2600 or so every single ******* month.

All that business success quickly went away when the economy went sour...can you imagine keeping up with that amount of monthly payments with 1/4th the salary? HELL. HELL HELL HELL...(I divorced my gold-digging wife during this rebirth of the BOSS) but I made it through, only (1) late car payment and I still have my house with ZERO late pays! Sold the BMW, Harley, Mazda and the Infiniti lease just finished.

Now? I make a LOT less in my full time job as an IT exec...SO, as of last month, I'm down to 3 vehicles which we own outright and my priorities and values are SPOT ******* ON.

Well....I took out small loan and bought the Tahoe :D ...which is how I ended up here.

That's my car story... :D

^^^^ Im so thankful the economy does not affect me much. Most of the guys remodeling can afford to do so no matter what. Or the people remodeling are only doing 5-10k jobs. Which 10 of these is a hell of a lot easier and better all the way around as it takes less time, less man hours. Less supplies, etc.
