might be too late but; did you let the seafoam sit ? did you put it in the tank or pull it in through the vac line ?

I did both, and i sucked a whole can thro the vac, nothing, no smoke...

how long did you let it sit ? and how much did you pull in ? if your didnt blow out alot of smoke or much at all, then honestly it can be a good thing. your engine is clean !

used about 3/4 of the bottle thro vac, and had some one hold the throttle about 2k and i dumped it into the vac line, so yeah no smoke for a 230k motor not bad,

mine came out and watched when i did it to the camaro, its to loud to hear what they said... but damn was it fun. people on the highway sure didn't know what to think.

good to hear what vac. line to use, need to get around to doing this to my Hoe. im sure those 175,000 miles have left some crap in the engine... haha

Well you wanted to know..... I just did mine with 177,620 miles and to bad my camera battery was dead because it blew out all kinds of smoke. I'm sure the people in my condo complex didn't like the site... I used 1 can (16oz) and put 1/2 the can threw the vac line from the brake booster and once the smoke stopped, I put the other half in the gas tank which had 1/2 tank of gas... I'll try the oil right before I change it next time...

But WOW!!! It idles so smooth now and I also notice better pickup when you hit the gas!!!

Definitely worth the $10!!!!!

ur not supposed to rev ur engine while pourin it in the booster line. after pouring it in the longer u let it sit in your engine the better it will clean...i always wait alteast 15 mins before crankin it.

When you guys say "let it sit". Do you mean sit at idle?
From reading around, I'm going put it in my gas tank.
If you put it in your gas, will it smoke until you use that tank? Or, does it only smoke when you suck it through the vacume line?

Thanks

I turned my truck off for 5min after sucking it through the pcv valve.
If you put it in the gas it won't smoke. I did notice that it smelled a little worse from having the stuff in the gas tank though. At least I think it did.

Ok guys! I just bought a '99 Yukon with a little over 200k miles on it and I plan on doing the Seafoam treatment to it, gas tank, oil and vaccum line! Can anyone with the correct procedure please let me know how to do it? It has a 5.7L Vortec in it, 2wd, automatic. Thanks, Frank!!!

Yeah I did read page 1..... I was asking if someone knew the proper procedure? First off I know that you are suppose to let it sit for about 15 mins Before restarting it and also I'm pretty sure that you don't floor it or goose it while the vaccum line is sucking up the Seafoam! If I'm not mistaken you are suppose to keep the engine above the stall point so that it doesn't die, then after sucking up the Seafoam you turn it off, hook up the vaccum line back to it's proper place then after 15mins of sitting, adding to oil and fuel tank you are suppose to start it back up and go for a (Spirited) drive for at least 30 mins to blow out the soot! What I am wanting to know is if the line off the brake booster is the correct vaccum line or is there another line you are suppose to use on a '99 Yukon w/a 5.7L Vortec ???

could anyone post a picture of the correct line? I have a bottle of seafoam sitting around. I glanced under the hood but nothing really stood out. Also, since I have the 5.7, should I just dump it in my tank and not even bother with the vacuum?
