Remove Corner Lights from truck

Pre-Heat oven to 250 degrees

Place empty Corner Lights (NO Bulbs) into over for 15 minutes

Remove Corner Lights from oven and use a razor to cut the silicone as gently prying the clear lens off the housing (leave oven on at 250 degrees)

Once you have removed the clear lens, put the housing (without clear lens) back into oven for 15 minutes to heat the silicone holding the orange lens

IMG_1511.jpg

Remove Housing from oven and pry the orange lens off the housing (this is very easy!)

This is everything taken apart

(I put the housing back into the oven after everything was taken apart to heat up the silicone, around the edge making it easier to remove it all...I had to put it in multiple times because the old silicone gets cold and hard real fast making it hard to peel off..when its warm though, it peels off like tape!)

I do NOT have Re-Install pictures as I have not put them back together yet! All you need to do is put a line of silicone around the housing where the old silicone was...make sure its a solid line with no holes or breaks...this will keep your lens weather proof!

Clean housings with alcohol (WARNING: BE CAREFUL!!!! If you rub too hard to too much, you WILL rub the chrome off...and then you'll have shiny black areas!!!)

IMG_1557.jpg

Painting the housings (DONT go wild...spray 1 or 2 coats and let dry for bout 10-15 minutes...then spray more coats and dry time as needed)

Comparing both

You posted in the wrong section though haha.

I feel stupid! lol.. :idiot:

btw..all of that was only 1/2 of my corner light project...my secret project still has more to come! ;)

I'd like to paint my headlight housings as well..the chrome trim facing forward (the parts that do NOT reflect light)

Thanks Sam! :)

And yes I did...I went through a dip in the mountains way too fast expecting just to drag the lip like I always do...but this had a grate in the road to prevent livestock from crossing the road...I guess when the truck sunk down into the dip at speed, the lip corners might have got stuck and ripped off...no biggie though...they are cheap pieces! :)

That looks sick! I'm glad you did it. I know I picked number 2 but as I mentioned number 7 was growing on me in a BIG way and it came out better than I had even thought it would! Nice job Bliz!

I actually think I'm going to do this to my signals to remove the amber reflector now. I originally assumed I'd buy some off ebay but free is free!

This is the paint that I used

IMG_1588.jpg

And this is what it can do to your tail lights (I didnt even clean them...just picked it up off the ground and sprayed them...since I dont use'em anymore)...and I only sprayed the bottom half...it woulda been much nicer if I..

A) Cleaned it

B) Sprayed the entire light

With my corner lights, I took them apart...cleaned the chrome...and and sprayed multiple light coats on it...and let it dry (nothing on the lens)

And with my old tails...I just picked them up and sprayed the outside of them lol....dirty hahah
