As I posted before, My previous was a vette, before that a F-150, then a Trans am before that, Both the Vette and TA had the same engine and they really tend to wake up with intake/exhaust.
I see most people here pretty much stop with just intake/exhaust, some have a programmer. Most people here say they aren't doing it for the MPG (my main reason for doing it personally), if not for MPG, why not go all out with full headers with cat delete, or hi flow cats (big bottleneck), ported TB/Intake/Pulley/Heads/Cam and GEARS, these trucks are in need of gearing! Wish they made it in a 6spd auto.
What lead me to post this is I was recently searching on here for stock dyno numbers and didn't come up with anything. After I get a good tune on my truck, I want to dyno it and although EVERY dyno is going to put out different numbers, I just wanted a baseline as to how much actual RWHP CAI/exhaust/and tune really gives. I'm willing to be only around 20-25 to the rear with most of the HP coming from the tune itself. BUT I love suprises which is why I wanted stock baseline dynos.
Anyone have any concrete stock baseline dyno's? Has anyone compared stock dyno with intake dyno or intake/exhaust?
Dyno numbers will not be as true with intake since the vehicle is tied down, but i'd expect to see a couple ponies due to the filter and tube assembly.

lol, yea, I noticed that AFTER I posted and unfortunately, you cannot change the title!! Obviously meant "far".
That LS7 Tahoe is crazy! I'd imagine the engine alone is upwards of $25k though...
Is our transmisstion a weak link? I have heard this in the past I believe. Granted, I am not going to race this thing, I'ts food for though while towing.

im sure money is a big issue with that. headers cam etc are easilly 2-4 thousand dollars. But I only did mild preformance mods cause I have a vette to play with.

Whatever it takes for 600whp. Built plenty of engines, these are damn easy to work on and respond to mods very well. A cam will net some of the biggest gains for the money on these trucks.

i really dont want to lose the top end though... i dont want to be on the highway and not be able to pass someone when im moving at 65 or 75... and for that matter, i do a LOT of highways miles so i do not want to lose my highway MPG's

its going to improve both no matter what. These are trucks. Im sure your going to wish for low end way more than top end .

Then you shouldnt be preformance modding. Just saying. That no matter what your going to be into it way to much to get good MPG. Hell im supposed to be getting 26 mpg in the vette but the highest I get is 11.X

to date, all the mods i have done have proven to add MPG's... i know the cam is going to be a different story though.

just trying to find a happy medium....

Nobody expects a 6000lb suv to get good mileage, I just got about 8mpg chasing down a 3series on I-70 and couldn't be happier about filling up.

hahahhaa, yea its one of those things where i realize im not going to be doing my MPG's any help, but i dont want to rob a ton of economy out of the milage to add a nominal amount of power...

This is where i am stuck. I am still trying to find the cam that is right for me, its just taking me forever because i know little about it.

um........my 07 2500 sub has a paxton blower on it and makes 537/515
everything else is stock. (on a 6.0 rated 355/385 to start vs. whats available in tahoes/yukons)

as for previous....

my 2000 tahoe has a 502 ramjet crate motor with a 200 shot of nitrous, 4l80 swap and a 14 bolt swap

my vettes are all pretty stupid

my 03 Z was 710/640 with rear mount turbos on a forged 346

my 00 frc is 803/740 with a paxton on a forged 346

my 99 gutted track car is a 427 C5R solid roller that dyno'd around 550/525 but has 10.5 to 1 compression so it can take a 200 shot of nitrous (was originally meant as a track/strip motor and not mainly road race)

the sub was actually meant to be left stock for reliable daily driver/tow rig duty, but my buddies with the vette shop needed a truck do design a blower kit on....
