HID reverse switch

Hey guys been floating around here for a while and was wondering if anyone could help me wire a switch. I saw the how too on here and it was just a picture, I tryd running a hot wire from the fuse to a switch but nothing happened. Am I missing anything?

Get a fuse add on adapter and a 4 point relay.
Then wire one the 1st of the 4 terminals on the relay to a constant 12V source like the battery. Then ground one of the terminals on the relay. Then you would need a switch connected to one of the terminals, with the last of the four terminals going to the fuse you tried to use. Tht should be it I think.
When you get the relay, it will tell you which terminals go with the above points.

I got one but the adapter is only able to withstand up to 10 amps and my fuse is a 20 amp fuse. I wired a wire to the battery, a ground and the switch I got and nothing.
