Last couple days my HID have been going out if I hit a big bump in the road. Or if going over really rough spots the basically flash or flicker. It only happens for that split second I hit the bump and then they come right back on. It has to be a good bump and has to be at highway speeds. Never happens on side streets or when going slow over speed bumps.

I have Moimoto setup I've been running for 2.5yrs. I've had to replace 1 bulb and 1 ballast over that time but never had an issue w/ the lights going out like this.

I know the obvious answer is to check the connections. It is both lights so probably not an individual bulb or ballast. But it is such a pain to get at these headlights I'm thinking of scraping them and going back to stock.

My question is has anyone had this issue of the lights going out when hitting bumps. My fear now is them going out and not coming back on and getting in serious trouble at 60mph w/ no headlights.

thx.

Can be that the fact they are not properly secured. The ballast might have some play where you hit a bump and the get knocked around causing intermittant lights out. you also may have loose connections.

That is indeed a very valid concern!
If it was one side I would lean more toward a cracked board in the ballast or such. Both sides... not so much.
