Need some plastic prybars to pry the surround off.
Then a 7mm socket.
You'll need to loosen the switchbank and climate controls since the faceplates overlap.

sounds like a bad head unit, normally they either work or they do not
rap is 10 minutes, unless you open a door
otherwise double check your work
AND, we cannot read minds or magically transport ourselves so you have provided absolutely no information at all

Is this the old unit that shuts off, is that why you're changing it? Or is the problem with the new one?

Details, please, in case you want helpful comments. New head unit make & model, and whatever accessory hardware is being used.

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Lots of knowledgeable folks here who freely share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Knowledge is power.

I hope that you will become a participating member in the Forum's discussions.

Pics of the truck, please.

The folks here want to assist you, but you have to provide us with basic truck information, so that we know what platform and trim that you have. And, we could use some additional background on the specific issues that you are having (just start out of the blue, any other/similar issues prior to it killing itself after 10 minutes, any work done on the truck recently that could have impacted/created this issue, etc.).
