Howdy!
I recently purchased a 05 GMC Yukon Sports Utility and the ac doesn’t blow hot but it isn’t cold either? Anybody know what that can be about?

Also the base of the steering wheel makes a cranking noise and the mechanic said it was bc he had just replaced it!

Also! Anybody know why on my driver side I can’t use the lock button to lock all doors so I have to use the passenger side door?

Thank you!!

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Lots of knowledgeable folks here who freely share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Knowledge is power.

I hope that you will become a participating member in the Forum's discussions.

Pics of the truck, please.

Sounds like you have a number of issues going on there.

AC: I would first check the Freon level, as it may be low. If the Freon level is good, then it would be time to check out the operation of the blend doors.

Steering Wheel: The Mechanic's reply is a new one to me. Ask the Mechanic how long before the cranking noise goes away, and make it clear that if it doesn't, you will be back in search of a solution.

Door Locks: There may be an issue with the buttons cluster, perhaps the contacts are dirty. If you want to troubleshoot that switch cluster, folks here can tell you how to remove it, without breaking any of the parts.

Misc: Do you have, or have access to, a quality bi-directional scanner? If not, I recommend that you get yourself a quality bi-directional scanner to add to your tool box. Then, you will be able to read ALL trouble codes, along with a brief explanation/pointer to the source of your issue. You can test many of the truck's electronic functions with the scanner, in order to determine the source of an issue. You will also be able to reset/delete trouble codes, after taking corrective action. You will literally save thousands of dollars in diagnostic and repair costs over the life of your truck, and you will most likely recoup the cost of the scanner within 1 year.
