Wanted to say hey ! I have stumbled into an 09 Tahoe hybrid ? Been a bit of a challenge along the way .

Bought the vehicle at an online auction accidently, I do that some times ?

Any way , the AFM was dead so I had a local pirate deal with that and for the most part its ok ? still dropping a crank code , maybe a sensor or a relearn ? Time will tell.

The battery system was not happy after the hybrid PCM was changed . So I ordered a battery for the local supplier to eliminate the problem . So far so BAD !!! Replacement is junk from the get go and wouldn't even start the truck !
Said to be all new except for the appearance ? totally remanned , but who cares if it worked .

So the tech came out to verify the bad replacement and agrees its bad . Now waiting for the replacement's replacement.

Oh well ? thats where I am at and will post up as the saga continues !!!

if you plan to keep it, invest in a clone tech 2 will go a long way to being about to trouble shoot stuff yourself.

these hybrid batterys you can buy are almost always referb. they pull cells from junk yard cars, mostly older prius. run then thru a few cycles of charge and discharge. try to match them with like capacity and sell them. most are less than. 70% of the original capacity.

don't hesitate to put that warranty to use while you can.

I'm currently testing a set of sodium based replacement cells for my yukon. so far with great results, but time will tell, only been about 6 months and 10k miles or so. by the time your warranty runs out if you need a replacement. we should have long term data. but very promising so far and since gm won't even order a oem replacement for these at any price and Gen 3 prius are getting old too. access to these old school nickel metal hydride batteries are drying up.
