Headliner removal

My headliner has sagging fabric so I was figuring remove it so I can put on fresh adhesive. I was watching a video about how it comes out and the process seems a bit daunting. Do dash panels really need to come out? I worry that with the old plastic something is bound to break.

it comes apart pretty easily. take your time and it will be fine.
