I would call it more like a long shift rather than hard shift, but in any case, since Ive owned my truck it has always hung in 1st gear longer than I would have expected, but only the 1-2 shift, none other.... so I started doing the search here and found a few threads on how a dirty MAF sensor was causing late shifts,.... so Im here to tell you,.............. it worked.
Clean MAF Sensor as per instructions on can,... and it only cost $5.
