I've thought about that. I was surprised not to see this option in my searching.

I have attached my radar detector using this method. Works great. Quick and easy to remove or attach

This doesn't solve the problem right now, but someone had a beautiful idea for the Colorado / Canyon: 2023+ Colorado/Canyon Vent Mount

I use this one on our gen 2 Tahoes.

Garmin Air Vent GPS Mount

Yeah, Garmin specific, but there may be other options like it.

It works great on gen 2 Tahoes. Attach it to the left side of the right center vent. Doesn't impede HVAC airflow. Run the power cable into the vent to a power supply. Clean and functional.
