that sucks...i think in GA that they will haul u away if you don't have your license...35 doesnt seem that bad

In NC they tow your car to impound if you don't have your license.

A lot of cops are pretty cool if you have your car set up in a way they like. In high school I got busted for having beer in the car while doing 50 in a 25. Cop let me go, said he thought it was badass I put dual flowmasters on a 96 caddy deville. But another one gave me a ticket for legal window tints, so I guess you can never be safe.
