Picked up a set of 20” rims last night. 6x5.5. Going to be cleaning them up, and doing my own one-off design on them this winter.
I’ve been Looking for a set of tires, but I’m not sure which will fit under my 03 ‘Hoe running stock suspension. As of now, I’ve got a spare set, about 8/33 tread. They are 275/60/20’s. Thought about mounting one, and checking fitment, but figured I’d ask before I go ahead.

You need to know backspacing and offset. These, theoretically, will be imprinted on the rims themselves. After that, you can use this tire size calculator; that will answer your questions, mostly: Tire Size Calculator

You may want to research how backspacing and offset wheel-sizing, because it is useful information.

How about some more information on the rims? What are they? Stock size on 20"s would be 275/55-20, specs below:

Yes, as stated above, rim width and offset for these rims need to be identified. For my stock 20" rims, the rim width is 8.5" and the offset is 31mm. With this stock rim, I run 305/50x20 Michelin Defender LTX tires with no rubbing on a stock height suspension.

This is incorrect for a 2003, GM mounted 275/55/R20 tires on 20 inch wheels on the gmt800 as well as the gmt900 rigs. I ran a 275/60 tire on my stock suspension 2006 and I had zero issues. I’m not sure what the offset on any of the wheels I was running previously were. But I didn’t have rubbing issues until I went with a 275/65 series tire and that’s even on a front level kit to gain clearance. My drivers side tire runs the inner fender liner when turning right over snap bumps and dips. But I think part of my issue is that I’m running an LT275/65 series and not a P275/65.

I had aftermarket Torque Thrust 20" rims. on my stock 2004 Tahoe Z71. Tires on them were 285/55 R20. No rub anywhere. I have no idea what the width, offset or backspacing dimensions were. I traded them away for stock rims with skinny tires. The 285/55 were too narrow on the sidewall and had a sport tread pattern. The width and tread were just going to be way too slick for winter driving for me. Averaging almost $300 each, prices on tire options for the 20" rims scared me away.
