Gas in Oil

Hey Everybody, we took a family trip in our 2019 Yukon XL (110,000 miles) andour oil change reminder popped up on the way. When we got to our destination, I had the oil changed and The tech said our oil was 2 quarts high and smelled like gas. Not good! We have about 350 miles to get back home. Do you think we can get home without causing any damage to the engine? The engine runs great and no codes. I’d prefer to get home and then have a mechanic figure out why we’re getting gas in the oil. Would appreciate your thoughts.

1st, you waited for the Oil Life Monitor to get down to ... how many percent? ... before changing the oil? Try changing oil sooner, like 20% or 25% or 33%?
2nd, since you changed oil, your gas-in-oil percentage should be close to zero, yes?
Go home. When you get there, change oil AGAIN, to see how much fuel is in it after a mere 350 miles.

By the way, since your oil has fuel in it, next time use 0w30 or 0w40, since gas in oil thins oil (no, it doesn't just stay separated from oil).

HPFP is leaking and needs to be replaced.

fuel in oil is not good.
