The reality is Ford and GM MSRP prices do not reflect the selling price as everyone knows. The difference is that with Fords, they start discounting them heavily right out of the gate. For example, I went with my neighbor to see an Expedition Max Platinum $83k sticker for him. He’s not a Ford guy but just wants to check out all options. Within 15 minutes into the test drive, the salesman said he can take off $15k! Afterwards my neighbor finished the dance of exchanging phone numbers inside at the desk, the manager stopped by to meet him, and took off another $2k. My neighbor wasn’t even TRYING to negotiate, he was just telling them that he was considering buying.

So when a dealer sells an $83k vehicle for $66k (and it could probably be less if you tried) resale value gets crushed right out of the gate.

Then after that you have the Ford name crushing resale value on top. That’s why prices are not the same, in either the new or used market. Ford is lower for the same thing vs. GM.

The only reason I’m not in a navigator right now if because they won’t go above. 5% discount and I’m not paying $100k for ANY Ford or GM product. Sorry.

Sounds like they are much more flexible with the expedition price though.

Either way, I’m still not understanding the whole ‘plane Jane’ thing. He navigator and expedition seem pretty well equipped. But maybe we’re entering opinion territory.

I think the 2021 Yukon looks much better than the Tahoe/Suburban.

That being said the 2021’s look decent, but with the softer rounder edges and body lines it’s like the K2XX just gained the Freshmen 15.

Wow really? I think the Yukon looks hideous while the Tahoe has grown on me a bit...especially if it is a darker color so the contrast is lessened.

It’s still early, and all photos for now. The headlights of the Tahoe/Suburban just look a little to 4Runner-ish; Not necessarily bad and not totally ruling it out. But hasn’t grown on me as quick as the Yukon front end has.

I am intrigued that the Chevrolet variant has a “High Country” trim level, and if that means limited darker color choices with more painted to match and less chrome that would be more my preference.

Hard to say. Lots of variables introduced when you get that granular. All we can say for sure is that Explorer is the best SUV and ford trucks are the best trucks.

I drive an Explorer based vehicle for work and a Suburban. No comparison. Two totally different animals with two totally different missions.

I think the GMC looks a little better in the front. I like the Silverado front end but wish was little different as was in the past. Sure will sell well, finally got that room in the 3rd row.

I had that shifter in my '18 XT5. I'm guessing they've probably updated it for the new Escalade.. (hopefully?) but lots and lots of people on the Caddy forums hate that shifter. It's like a weird appendage intended to electronically mimic a sporty stick shift but for people who've actually driven a manual, it doesn't quite translate.
Maybe they improved it.

I see the knobs below the shifter for controlling stuff on the screen. You can scroll menus without having to smear the screen with fingerprints. Which is a good idea, especially with that gigantic fingerprint magnet lol.

IMO, the 2020 is going to be the worst year to buy because GM was using up all of the leftover stuff to build them, while getting an extra year out of the K2 platform. I'm sure the 2020 LS and LT will see big discounts to move them off the lots so they can sell the T1 platform. I'm sure they will try and still get TOP dollar out of the Premium and RST models to offset the discounts on the lower trims. The 2015-19 will probably stay about the same value, it seems no matter if you have a GMT, or K2, the value stays hi for many years to come.
