Fuel shuts off at 112MPH

Ok, not the smartest move; however I wanted to see what the truck could do.

I was moving at highway speeds about 65-70MPH and let her have it. She accelerated very quickly and startled me at 112MPH with the fuel cut off. It picked right back up as speed dropped.

The truck handled very smoothly for the speed. I'm not interested in doing it again, just thought I would put it out there.

That and your tires are probably rated 88mph.

I've read that the 2021's are impossible to tube. Is that true?

Yes the 2021 large GM SUV's have locked ECU's. You could get another ECU installed which can be programmed like some are doing with the Corvette's where they are running dual ECU's. At that point you can then also do more fun stuff like adding a supercharger.

Car makers do not sell vehicles with tires rated for lower speed than the governor setting.

I've never heard of passenger car tires rated for that low speed, GM certainly wouldn't use them if they exist on their premier offerings either.

My Yukon 22" Bridgestones are "H" rated which is 130mph. Not sure if that was some "Back to the Future" reference, but if they were only rated to 88mph I would have had a blowout long ago!
