Fuel pump Advice, please! Which is best: Bosch, Walbro or ?

Please, help me if you can. It looks like necessity resolved the issue of replacing the fuel pump. It appears the OE fuel pump doesn't supply adequate flow rate for the 450HP engine going in the Escalade. From what I'm reading we need a flow rate of around 255lph/67gph at 40psi. Also, I can't find the flow and psi rates for GM OE fuel pumps anywhere. Delco and Delphi offer fitment only and even GM performance doesn't seem to include these specs. Or, if they are provided I can't find them.

This leaves me thinking an aftermarket fuel pump is necessary. Your informed opinions as to which I use would be greatly appreciated. After meeting flow rate requirements my major concern is longevity. I'm looking a fuel pump that is durable and has a good track-record for longevity. Right now Bosch and Walbro seem to be the front runners. Which of these do your think is best; or is there another make that is better?

Are you referring to the original fuel pump in your truck, a GMT800? The fuel pump in my truck has been said to support up to 450 or so horsepower. The Sierra has a different part number for its pump, presumably, it's even more capable since the motor already makes 400+ horsepower stock.

We used Walbro pumps a long time ago, never had a problem with them, they were noisy if memory serves.

Yes, to the best of my knowledge my 06 Escalade has its original fuel pump. I prefer OE parts but I MUST KNOW the OE fuel pump will provide the gas flow this engine requires for peak performance; and I cannot find flow capacity and psi specs for the stock fuel pump anywhere online. Its very aggravating that GM/Delco/Delphi do not provide specifications for the parts they sell. I've even looked at GM fuel pumps for the higher horsepower Corvette; but the part numbers are different and GM fitment says nothing about using it on anything other than the specified Corvette models. It's all very frustrating. I know the answer must be out there somewhere, but I can't find it.

Thanks, I'll look him up. But your reminded me of another reason for swapping out the fuel pump. I believe Escalades didn't offer a flexfuel compatible fuel pump until 2009. This engine will run on flexfuel. I don't plan on using it, but I'd like to be able to.

BTW, where do you live in FL? Your profile says Treasure Coast. Is that down on the tip of FL or in the Kesy? I'm in Ocean Springs, MS hext door to Biloxi. We have an awesome cruise event down here every year in October.

Couldn't find direct contact info for Brian Nutter. So I emailed Summit Racing for their advice. Maybe it will get to him there. We'll see how they respond.

Your fuel pump would handle FlexFuel chemical wise, they switched all that over when the L59s first came out is my understanding. Yes, you'll have to look at the plugs and orientation to make sure the pump would fit. I'm certain many hotrodders have already been down this path before. I would pose your question over at the Performance Trucks forums.

I'm confused. The OE Delphi fuel pump description for my truck at RA states "w/o flex-fuel."
