I have an 04 Tahoe I just had the instrument cluster rebuilt with new stepper motors and bulbs. I put it back in and now my fuel gauge is reading off. Is it possible to just pull the cluster out put the fuel gauge on Empty to fix it or is it not that simple?

id contact who ever did the rebuild. iirc you need a special tool to calibrate the stepper motors.

They said they will have a look at it. I’m not real confident in them considering they say the fuel gauge never goes to E when you shut the vehicle off. It’s always went to E when shut off. I know it’s off because my low fuel light came on halfway between quarter and empty.

Given the number of posts you have regarding cluster issues after a rebuild, I'd get your money back. Sounds like a shit job

Who did it?
