The parts stores state the Moog RK620888 LH) and RK620889 (RH) are the correct control arms for my 2012 XL 1500 Denali. They also state they are for the Police Pkg...are these iron lower arms the same? Just want to be sure as mine are iron also.

RK Series are the parts you use the day before you sell the car and don't like the guy who is going to buy it. CK Series is the same as ACDelco Gold/Professional and can last between 10-50 thousand miles. GM OE is the best of course, it's what your truck was built with.

I'd go with GM parts, as @swathdiver recommends. Go to GMPartsDirect.com, enter your VIN, and you'll find your control arms with bushings and ball joints attached for about $150 each.

Question: do you have a picture of what a cast iron CA looks like vs. a forged steel?

Forged Steel on the left, upper ca, cast iron on the right, lower ca:

It is my opinion that the difference in quality resides in the bushing materials, not the control arms themselves. Assuming of course they're all made to the same standards.

So, forgive my ignorance, are there only cast-iron LCAs, and forged steel UCAs? (discounting aluminum for this question)

As in, there are no steel LCAs/iron UCAs?
