Dorman replacement was $28 Amazon Prime when I ordered it.

Here is a pic with the door panel removed.

Replacement is pretty easy. Follow this video. A few bolts, the panel plastic clips, water shield and unhooking the lock rod. 2nd time was faster.

No disappointment in the quality of the dorman? Found some on eBay but they dont say if they are dorman brand. Probably order off Amazon as well so i can make sure i get the dorman brand, and thats the exact video i found last night, love 1aauto's videos lol. Good lookin out on the info man, the crew cab needs both front handles.

Dorman or I have seen a Depo one I think. They are all plastic and pot metal unfortunately. Even the OEM is just what it is. Chrome plastic.

Their videos have helped me numerous times.

Pretty easy overall. The body panel clips were tight and getting your hand to detach the lock rod was a bit tight as well.

Hey Fosscore, since we both have Cashmere leather, what would you do to clean and condition this? I've tried Poorboys leather cleaner and more recently Meguiars. They seem to condition well but don't clean that well as you can see from the grime still in the creases. That's after scrubbing with a microfiber sponge. IMG_8621.JPG

Those creases are a PITA as are the perforated seats (but nice when they are cooling your nether regions on a long road trip or Florida hot day). Sometimes the crease is just a wear spot in the leather and not necessarily dirt. It may not come out if it is already worn out from use.

When nothing else (product of your choice or elbow grease with cotton rag or microfiber is working), then you might have to resort to less traditional methods to get back to square one.

I will usually pull out the Magic Eraser if I am meeting with resistance. I know some guys will say no way, the chemicals and abrasive nature of the sponge on the leather, but it does work. I have used it on the 06 and the 13 leather seats with great results and plenty of clean interior compliments.

Pick a test spot, make sure the Eraser is wet, but not dripping wet and gently work that area and wipe clean. A brand new Eraser will yield very quick results. You can still use your leather cleaner along with the Eraser for lubrication and cleaning purposes. You want to go slow and easy so that you don't strip the sheen off. If you go hard core, you will clean the seat and it will be a matte finish upon completion.

If you like how this is working, then go a bit further wiping as you go to compare and see if you missed anything. I wipe the leather down once again with a cleaner and microfiber before moisturizing it with your favorite leather treatment. This is a key step at the conclusion to condition the leather since you are mildly stripping the natural oils out.

Some guys on TYF and many other forums recommend Magic Bubbles as well. I have not personally used this recipe, but it is another option to help clean really ground in dirt, again going lightly, cleaning and moisturizing.

Go slow, do a test spot, clean again and moisturize. That should do the trick. Hope that helps a bit.

Some on here have used it with astonishing results, making creased and cracking seats look virtually new.

Awesome, thanks so much for the replies. I have heard of people using magic erasers on leather, but I was hesitant for the same reason you mentioned - the abrasiveness of it. But if you've done it with success I'll give it a try. Sorry for temporarily getting off topic, now you can get back to posting pics of your Escalade-tier Suburban :D

Followed the wife yesterday to make sure the tail lights were still working and admire that Esky 3rd. Still love that mod! She needs an oil change and detail, especially the interior, but that will have to wait for the rains to clear out.

She's a beauty........and, holy crap, that's a lot of standing water!

Been too busy to deal with either truck this week, but I couldn't take the dirt anymore on the wife's Suburban. I washed the truck before I woke the kids for school this morning just to get the first layer of crap off the paint and chrome. No time to dry, but it looks a lot better. Average Joe better....lol.

The clay bar and machine will be coming out to bring her back up to scratch. The chrome needs a good polish and the interior will need some fingerprint and dog nose love as well. Also found a license plate LED is toast and the wife has put a few chips in the drivers side tint from letting her seat belt fly off.

I keep telling myself to just keep my stock tail lights. Simple. Classic. They work and look fine.....but every time I see your tail light pics......

Plenty of options out there. I really like the G4s. They blow the stock ones away with how bright they are and with the Bulbeats or JDM Astar reverse LED bulbs it is a complete package.

I got lucky and found these 2nd hand on eBay and snatched them up.

Is that hitch cover and bumper for a certain year or is that a Cadillac item? Quite different than my 2009.


This came stock with the 2013 LTZ.

Here are a few pics of the cover.

Zoom in and you will see 4 tabs at the top that slide in under the chrome strip.

There are 2 twist tabs at the bottom that push through holes on the underside of the bumper and twist lock the cover so it will not fall down.
