Probably be cheaper to just get another off ebay. Really easy to install. I put a leather handled one in my 03.

Yeah it was leather. Definitely cleans up the look with stitching in the back. I think that’s when I said the heck with the old, fake wood grain Denali steering wheel and swapped it with a more modern one to match the shifter. Just those two changes drastically improved the fun factor to drive.

I don’t think the end cap is replaceable. It doesn’t appear to come as a separate piece. I grabbed a 2020 shifter for my 2006 and I agree I like the stitching in the back. Looks much better.

The end cap is not serviceable, part of the shift lever.

As stated by folks above, go with the entire lever replacement, and you will be done.

I tried googling, but I came up with different part numbers.

Just google your year with exact setup--6 spd trans 15 Tahoe, leather handle etc.

The different part halberd are for the different trim levels and also for the different colors of leather options.

I just noticed the cracked part appears to be black as opposed to chrome. Might want to confirm that you’ll indeed be getting the exact same color (unless you don’t mind the plastic chrome) if you end up ordering through gmpartsdirect (they quite simply have line drawings only).

I guess they don’t offer the part for 2018... I looked for it and it isn’t shown with steering anywhere. Not on Rockauto either.

Not sure if you have a Yukon or Tahoe and what trim level you have, but I’m assuming the one shift lever should fit all of them.
