Hey. Does anyone know where i can view or get an routing diagram for the tahoe exhaust. Its a 1999 4 door 4x4.
The shop said i need repairs to the exhaust at the Y pipe, rear hanger. Flanges, donuts and hardware were on the bill too.
I was wondering if thats all Cat-Back exhaust or what. They want 900 bucks to fix it, but i can get a whole Cat back dynomax super turbo exhaust incl Y pipe for 348 bucks.
Just was looking for a diagram or even someone who has a pic of the exhaust complete under the truck.
Any help would be great. Im doin this work outside in -20 weather.
Peace

If it includes the Y pipe, it isn't a cat back. The Y pipe contains your cats. Search for magnaflow 23453. That is magnaflows y pipe and cat assembly. On amazon it's about 350. I just had to get it. My truck and likely yours, has the y pipe into two seperate converters that end in a flange that has two outs, that bolts to the two ins of the muffler, which then exits in a single outlet to the tail pipe. Where are you finding that cat back for that price? Magnaflows cat back for the 5.7 shows on amazon for 650.

I don't know where I got magnaflow from dynomax. I'll search for it. Magnaflow's cat back is part #15701.

I know see what you mean about y pipe. Y pipe in the classic sense is the piece from the two manifold collectors, to the muffler flange. The dynomax kit #17349 has a single inlet muffler, so the y pipe is the piece from the dual inlet flange to the single inlet muffler. Amazon has it for 288 with free shipping if you're a prime member. Damn good deal, if you do it let us know how it sounds.

Here is the one i was looking at.
So from what im guessing, the "Y" pipe that the shop is referring to is the pipe that the cats are on. and the shop said the Y pipe needs repair. I will just have to get under there and check out where the problem is.
the shop want just under $900 to repair the Y pipe, flange, donut, and a spot at the rear hanger. im not sure what all that means, but if i buy the cat back system, and get the spot on the Y pipe welded up, that should fix it i hope. not spending 900 to 'repair' an exhaust lol.
Thanx for the diagram, ive looked all over the internet and couldnt find one.
